In the port of Klaipeda, JSC Malkų Įlankos Terminalas was the first to sign the “Bilateral agreement on infrastructure/superstructure improvements or development at the Klaipeda State Seaport” with the State enterprise Klaipeda State Seaport Authority. Under this contract JSC Malkų Įlankos Terminalas will invest in the construction of a new cargo terminal, while the Port Authority will reconstruct the railways on the leased territory of the terminal and build new roads.
The contract of the Port Authority was awarded to UAB Plunges Jonis along with Hidrostatybos Projektai. After reconstruction, terminal will be able to accept up to 40 rail wagons in to each of the 4 branches.
