Intensive dredging works began in Malku Bay. It will be one of the largest infrastructure development projects launched by the port authority( JV KSSA).
At the same time, an historic event for MIT. Until now we couldn’t employ our potential to the full extent due to significant depth limitations.
Also this year it is planned to start reconstructionof berth walls No. 142, adapting to a depth of 14.5 meters. It is expected that the berth walls reconstruction and dredging works will be completed by the end of 2019.
Following these changes in infrastructure, MIT will be able to fully load PANAMAX-type vessels and increase their handling capacity for agricultural products to more than 1.0 million tons per year.
